Taylor stepped into the role of Director of National Ballet Competition in October 2023. Since stepping into the role, her main goal has been connecting dancers with the ballet schools of their dreams. Under her leadership, the competition has grown tremendously, and she is excited to continue making both the competition and the overall experience better and better each year.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Taylor Ciampi began her pre-professional training at The Rock School in Philadelphia under Bo and Stephanie Spassoff. During her training, she earned numerous awards at Youth America Grand Prix, including the Grand Prix Award at the 2015 Austin Regional Semifinal, and was selected as one of six American women to compete at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland. She also trained at the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam and participated in the Jacob’s Pillow Ballet Program.
Taylor began her professional career with the National Ballet of Canada in 2016, joined Atlanta Ballet 2 in 2017, and was promoted to Atlanta Ballet in 2018. She is currently a company member with First State Ballet Theatre. Since joining First State Ballet Theatre in 2021, she has performed leading roles including Myrtha in Giselle, Gamzatti in La Bayadère, Mercedes in Don Quixote, and the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, among many others.
